What is a Green Map?
A Green Map is a local map of sustainable places, things, services, buildings, businesses, etc. As a part of the Green Map System, these maps link local areas to a series of maps that exist throughout the world that document all things green.
The Center City Green Map will continue to grow, as our city becomes greener. The online maps will be updated as progress continues, as people, businesses and services become greener and as our city moves closer to its ultimate goal.
Watch the work in progress. Enjoy the experience by visiting, supporting, shopping and locating the green areas indicated on our maps.
Green Map® System promotes inclusive participation in sustainable community development worldwide, using mapmaking as our medium.

What is Center City Philadelphia?
This question may sound strange, especially to a native Philadelphian but it is actually not a strange question. This is why I feel that we should add definition to our project. Center City, or downtown Philadelphia is located between the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River
and for our mapping purposes, between South Street and Spring Garden Street. Some may include more streets and some may exclude a couple but our Center City Green Map will be defined by these boundaries.

Our Journey Begins...

We will virtually, visually and accurately record green buildings, businesses, public uses, places, organizations, etc. The Center City Green Building Examiner, along with the UA Green Team will make this all possible through the Green Map System. Stay tuned, the excitement is just beginning!
